“Amazing bit of kit. The Pi 4 can be used as a desktop, it's sometimes a little hesitant and there are a few LINUX traits the may irritate the odd Windows fan. I've overclocked mine and tried to optimise the setup in order to use it to stream video to my TV, not perfect, there are still some dropped buffers and screen tearing but you need a sharp eye to spot it. It needs active cooling before streaming for more than 5 mins, I added a heatsink and fan for £12. I could compare it to the £50,000 DECstation desktop I used late 1980s early 90s, the world's fastest UNIX workstation at the time, the Pi 4 wins and all for under £100 but then the DECstation only had 24 MB of RAM and a few 100 MB disc, that's progress. The Pi is an excellent bit of kit for the price.”
