“great starter kit, was literally plug and play with Thonny, and had no problem running the display off my PC's usb port. I have started reaching the limits of the Pico however, but that is only because of what I want to do with it.
the only issue I ran in to, was that when using the displays in the 64x256 configuration, the power splitter cable was stretched a lot as it couldn't quite reach both terminals. easily solved with an extension however.
would 100% recommend for anyone who wants to start tinkering with matrix displays!”

Recommend ensuring you've got a powered USB hub if you're planning on having it plugged in and running for real-time development as even with no pixels on some USB ports/hubs will go into a protective state.”
“I was surprised how quickly I could get this device up and running with some python code I worked on over the weekend. Quick and easy to put together, and easy to start drawing to the device. Only gotchas I ran into were for things that Micro Python did not support (Enum). But it was easy enough to provide a work around for that. :)”
