“Just like the Pi 5, I bought the NVME base because I could rather than having an actual use-case for it! Unfortunately though, I couldn't get it to work and in the process of fiddling around I'm pretty sure I managed to blow the SSD (I subsequentky bought a USB-C SSD enclosure to test it, and it won't mount...). Oh and it wouldn't have fit in the case that the Pi was already seated in.
So giving it 3 stars because it looks like it would be great for those more competent than me in getting it installed and working, but sadly not for me.”
“Super snappy Pi 5 action! Very easy to set up even for a newbie like me thanks to the guide on the product page. I love the fact that unlike other NVMe boards it attaches under the Pi too. The ribbon cable was a little bit fiddly to connect BUT, well worth it as it's very tidy and clean looking when installed. Highly recommend.”
“I wanted something a bit more resilient than an SD card and I'm hoping this NVME base plus an M2 drive will do the trick. Easy enough to put together, although ribbon cable can take a little bit of patience to get it in properly. All worked as expected with minimal config. I'm awaiting cases that can take the base to become readily available before I replace my older Pi with this system.”
