“I am delighted with this product! It's such a great little package of useful capabilities and one that's very approachable. I like that all I need is a USB connection to get started! I work at a medium-sized public library in Canada and I think that these could be an inexpensive way to teach info to coding. Just do some coding and see the results right away. Keep these inventive products coming!”
“The delivery of the well-packaged Badger to Germany was within 4 working days.
The hardware is easily accessible for me as a person without hardware affinity.
The example BadgerOS, the 2040 W comes with, can be easily customized by uploading changed files within Thonny IDE.
Now I'm busy implementing a high-level components API in MicroPython on top of the included PicoGraphics library.”
“Information I discovered, and found useful is that the fonts are either 8-bit only, or vector. (Memory is in short supply on a Pico.) The 8-bit fonts are scaleable in whole numbers, but the pixels are resized rather than upscaled. Vector lines can be made thicker. JPG images can be used, and it attempts to dither colours and brightnesses to 1bit (black or white) pixels. More control over the end result can be achieved by making your own 1-bit jpgs. (1-bit BMP files would be simpler, and smaller - hint -hint. ) Lots of useful examples to help make your own software. Wifi means that information can now be directly loaded from the internet. Power can be turned on and off easily, either with a power switch or by pressing a button on the Badger. For occasional use, even a couple of 'AAA' batteries seem to last a long time. Great if you need a simple, small, economically powered display. I am sure to buy these again when needed.”
