This turned up obscenely fast, so clearly someone at Pimoroni had not only had their Weetabix, but also shared it with the postman, because I was expecting this at least a day or two later than it arrived. Of note regarding this bundle: It's appreciated that the memory card comes pre-loaded with an os, I'm not actually going to use it, but it was appreciated as a nice helpful gesture nonetheless. The included hdmi to micro hdmi is a double edged sword. It makes things quick and easy to get up and running quickly, lowers the barrier to entry in terms of technical knowledge, and means everything you need is in the box which will be a boon to a lot of people. Although truthfully I think I personally would have preferred a hdmi to micro hdmi adapter instead since that would avoid the use of an additional cable as I could have used a pre-existing, pre-wired in spare and just popped the adapter on the cable as and when needed. Still it's a good inclusion even if it's not ideal for me specifically. Now the case... I'm afraid this is what costs the star. The only way you are using a micro sd card with pi 4 in this case, is either cutting the case, or risking damage to the card or the Pi itself. The memory card is supposed to protrude out a slot in the case, this is smart, since it should mean you can swap cards without removing the pi from the case. The problem is the slot isn't tall enough, to properly clear the socket on the board, meaning the only way to insert the card is by forcing it in at an off angle, and if you do get it in, the case will then exert excessive downward pressure on the card. Both the forcing and the constant downward pressure, present altogether far too high a risk of damage to take a chance on when you consider the most likely bit to get damaged is the Pi 4 itself which I'm sure you're aware is currently rarer than rocking horse you know what. It's a real shame because someone clearly put a bit of thought into what to include in this bundle, and then dropped the ball by not even testing to see if the case fits! Does it affect me specifically? Not really, I was only going to use it until I printed a more fun case to use anyway, but that doesn't make it acceptable as someone else might this case is perfectly fine to use long term unmodified, and damage their pi in the process! Don't forget this SBC is aimed at people of all ages and technical aptitudes, that may well not know any better, and may well not be of an age where they could be trusted with the tools to safely fix this issue themselves. At least replacement cases are cheap and plentiful...

Ahoy Mark It sounds like the Pi might not be properly clipped into the case here (meaning that the SD card slot is not in the right place) - if you want to send us some photos over to support@pimoroni.com we'd be happy to take a look?

Really useful kit - everything you need to get going, and doesn't take the mickey on price given the current rarity of Pi's

Really glad to finally get one of these. Super quick delivery. All good. A microSD preloaded with Raspberry Pi OS was a bonus. Had to take a knife to the official Pi 4 case to access the microSD slot without forcing things.
