This was worth it just to get a properly-rated power supply for the Raspberry Pi 4 and a. I opted for one of the anodised passive heat-sink cases, so the fan shim is in my parts drawer for now. But it's excellent to see cooling included as a core essential. Note that this comes with a micro-HDMI to HDMI cable, rather than a micro-HDMI to HDMI socket adapter. My older monitor only has DVI and DisplayPort in, and I rely on a DVI-to-HDMI cable to connect to full-size HDMI devices. So if you are in the same situation as me, you'll want to add the "235mm micro-HDMI to standard HDMI adapter cable" to your order for a few pounds more. You'll still come out ahead on price for all these parts!

Pi Desktop replacement is here. Great product bundle with all you need for desktop setup. The fan shim is great with relevant python scripts to control when the fan switches on. However the fan shim keeps running when the pi is shutdown. There are hacks on the internet to switch off the fan when the pi is shutdown.

A fair price for this bundle. The board of the Pi had two sharp edges, but that was easily corrected by carefully doing two strokes each with very fine sandpaper. One of the USB connectors is not sitting completely straight on the board (I have slight OCD), but that *very slight* skew did not prevent the Pibow coupe case from fitting nicely. Everything was safely packaged and complete (and for the little plastic nuts, there was one piece extra). The fanshim works perfectly, with the Python daemon from the documentation webpage, it automatically starts when the CPU temperature goes above a configurable threshold, and it also shows the temperature on the LED that sits on the fanshim’s board. It keeps my CPU from overheating, and the volume stays nicely low. I highly recommend this bundle.
