“Finally I was able to purchase a 4Gb Pi 4, they have been out of stock for ages! This is now running at home as a Docker based Pi Hole to protect my house from unwanted adverts and with Grafana so that i can monitor the performance of my ISP's service (to see if I am getting the bandwidth I purchased -so far it seems I am!).
Great little kit with all you need to set up a Pi in it. Although I have swapped the supplied plastic case for a and aluminium FLIRC as I felt that the Pi was a bit warm in operation. Case supplied = 53degrees C, FLIRC =40 degrees C (temp measurement taken from the Pi Hole status screen).”

“If you want a Pi 4 right now, this essentials kit is the way to go. For anyone who wants to get into programming or building one of the plethoras of projects out in internet land then these essential kits are good value and are all official parts. The quality of the case and power supply are as you'd expect for official gear. I found that the Pi 4 runs more than a bit warm when doing things other than just ticking over but it is well documented so perhaps including a heatsink or two in these kits would be a helpful addition? All in all, I'm very happy with both of my kits from Pimoroni and they provided a very fast delivery time. I also purchased USB3 to SATA cables that worked without issue through a powered hub which was plugged into my Pi. Other brands had stopped my Pi + SSD from booting. Something to bear in mind when upgrading to an SSD.”
