“So I love the concept of the badger 2040 and finding a relatively cheap E-ink screen with buttons is amazing, the kit really is everything you need to get started.
the demos do a good job of showing you what the device is capable of.
The one downside is a major doozy though, could be just an issue with my device but the usb C cable doesn't connect correctly and I believe is loose in the port. I get a moment of green light on the led and if I hold the cable in place I can keep consistent power however as soon as I let go it loses connection.
I haven't had a chance to use another usb-c cable to see if its just the one that came in the kit that's the problem but for right now the badge is kinda useless.
I think the concept is wonderful and I hope I just got an unlucky board because otherwise it would be a perfect start to get into codding with.”
Hi Nathanael!
I'm sorry to hear that your USB-C port was loose, that certainly shouldn't be the case.
If you could please contact us at support@pimoroni.com, we'll get a replacement Badger sorted out for you c:
“Bought this to increase the scan rate of QR codes. It works great and attracts the targeted attention!
Works out of the box in demo mode and is easy to configure. All I did was watch the video tutorial review.”
“Loving the badger 2040. As well as lanyard ID duty, I've got a few apps on it now that hold reference material for help with day to day jobs at work. Like IP ranges and network maps.”
“Demo program on Github is straight-forward to understand and follow. It would be nice if I understand how to interpose the substitutional data, such as values from BME688, on the screen.”
