“I got a Badger from the first batch and have been playing with it for 10 days. In that time most of the initial software glitches have now been fixed and we now have an excellent Beginners’ Guide and an improved and expanded built-in demo program. (Update to the Badger UF2 V3 for the new version but you may have to use the nuke UF2 first to clear out all of the previous files.)
This is a great and inexpensive well-made board that should provide hours of coding fun. The display is very clear but do not expect super-fast screen updates from an E-Ink display. This one is quicker than most but the fastest option may not always be as clear as a slower option.
The way this board supports text is really good. There are 5 fonts easy to use fonts supplied that can be resized and displayed in various degrees of thickness and at an angle. Filled rectangles and lines are easy to produce allowing easy graphics production.
Fullscreen and smaller images can easily to added to the display after being converted to a suitable size and 1-bit format with the provided conversion program – look in the guide and study the full documentation provided.
The battery options are useful if you want to use the board as a badge.
This is a great board, at a really good price and I’ve had fun learning to use it.
