“The display is okay and works as advertised. Getting the touch events is a bit fiddly because one needs to rely on a Pimoroni library instead of something like tslib.
One thing that could be easily improved: the PCB uses half-height push-through headers for the connection with the Raspberry Pi. These require a higher force compared to regular headers which is not a lot of fun in combination with a sensitive display surface.”
“Excellent display. Quality construction and works great. Description clearly mentions that stand-offs are not included :( They should be. 50p more to include would be way worth it. Instructions on actual use are a bit bare-bone. Need to visit multiple locations to get code. Better instructions and examples would be appreciated. Recommmended!”
Ahoy Andy! Thanks for the review - we decided not to include standoffs with this Hyperpixel as you need different standoffs (and possibly a booster header) depending on whether you're using a full sized or Zero sized Pi. Did you find the touchscreen examples in https://github.com/pimoroni/hyperpixel2r-python ? We'd love to know what you got stuck on and what you'd like to see from us in respect of instructions / examples - feel free to drop us a line at support@pimoroni.com if you have time! :)
