“The Pico Explorer Base is a real treasure! It brings together the Pi Pico, a neat little 240 by 240 LCD, and a TI motor driver which is capable of supplying over an amp. The breadboard is dinky, but is big enough to take two 14 pin DIL chips end for end. I am seriously thinking of using this board to teach my second year students about DC motor control using PWM and feedback from tachometers, replacing some older hardware which has been in use for a while. At 22 pounds (OK 26 pounds if you buy a Pi Pico at the same time) this is a bargain! All the remaining pins of the Pi Pico are brought out on convenient header pins, all clearly labelled. I have yet to explore the "breakout" connectors but have already cut some stripboard to make my own plug-in modules (contacts are on 0.1 inch pitch).”
