“The Pico Explorer Base is a great item for learning how to program the pico microcontroller. The small breadboard makes it easy to add devices like a DHT 11 and the likes to extend your experiments, and the 1x1 inch screen is great for handling output and doesn’t do too bad with plotting graphs and the likes. Very glad I picked one up.”
“Absolutely essential addition to the Pi Pico. The Pico is an excellent and really powerful little development board and this add on makes it so much fun to play around with. Add a couple of breakout garden sensor breakouts and you have a pretty full-fledged development kit with plug and play sensors, a lovely little screen, sound, motor drivers, 4 input buttons and a little breadboard for adding other things to. It's excellent.”
“Definitely one of the best general purpose add ons for the pico for experimenting and learning about the device. The Pico is one of the most exciting development boards to come along in years, and the explorer base makes testing out ideas and learning the C and Micropython SDKs fun as it has so many different inputs and outputs to play with. Add on a couple of Breakout Garden sensors or inputs (I've added a simple BME temperature sensor, the RGB potentiometer and a 5x5 RGB matrix) and it really is a complete electronic playground. The only thing I'd change would be to add a reset button on the board - the Pico Demo board has a reset button and the (also excellent) MakerPi PIco board also has a reset button, and it makes uploading UF2 files a lot easier than disconnecting / reconnecting the Pico every time.”
“Very good starting point to get to know your Pico. Without any soldering you can quickly change any eperiment. LCD is clear and breadboard easy to use. I didn't use the breakout port so can't say anything usefull on those..”
