“very good product, everything is on the board to experiment PICO platform. The Pimoroni software is excellent and delivers all the necessary drivers.
One improvement I should propose should be to allow the shutdown of the LCD backlight by connecting the EN pin on the backlight driver to a PICO I/O”
“If you utilize the two breakouts requiring their unique sensors and add-ons, it's a five. If not, it is a four. It would be nice to have blank boards with soldering pads for custom circuits that can utilize the breakout sockets. If it exists, I couldn't find it.”
Ahoy Fred! Sorry to hear that your order hasn't arrived yet - looks like we sent it out on 5 September. I'm afraid we're not able to track orders sent by standard shipping.
Under normal circumstances, most international orders are delivered within 7-10 working days after dispatch, though occasionally parcels can take up to a month to arrive. We hope it arrives soon!
“The explorer base is an awesome starting point for anyone that wishes to tinker with the Pico. The display is easy to use, the built-in motor controls and GPIO are straightforward to use and the I2C ports are a welcome addition making for easy use of modules. It would be nifty if these boards came with breakout to grove adapters (or if such an adapter was available since the grove connectors are I2C compatible). My only complaint is the faintness of the piezo speaker. For a long while, I thought it was broken on my board - until I put the speaker up to my ear.
Overall, the Explorer Base is a must-have.”
“I recommend this board to those interested in circuitry and new to the Raspberry Pico. There are several features on this board that make it a great first purchase along with the Raspberry Pico. The pre-assembled screen, dual H-bridge motor driver chip, and well-labelled pin ports make this a standout board for those interested in circuits and beginner robotics.”
