First thing, upon opening the ziplock package and removing the bubble rap envelope, the display screen was lifted-up being held in place only by the ribbon cable. I carefully pressed in back down on to the adhesive, it appears to be stable now. that being siad, the Pico Explorer Base is much smaller than I expected, even though the demensions are listed on the web site. I plugged in a Pico H, uploaded the Explorer Base .uf2 file, fired-up the explorer Base examples in Thonny, everything works well, the first time. One downfall for me is the piezo buzzer, its such a high pitch I can not hear it without my hearing aids, my wife could hear it from across the room though. Overall this is a great experimenter board.

I really wish this had been around late 1970s -early 1980s when I was in high school. It wasn't, but it's here now and imho worth every penny. Could use a source of projects to get things going re imagination but what's here is well designed, well built, and well priced. Highly recommended.

I haven't had much time to experiment but I ran through a few of the demos in MicroPython using the custom library. I found it fairly straight forward. I was even able to get the BME680 sensor demo working in seconds (pictured). The only complain't I have is the piezo seemed quiet to me. That could just be me, I am hard of hearing, especially at high frequiencies, plus I have tinnitus. I also had some difficulty wading hrough the documentation, perhaps a couple of tutorials would be a good idea. Overall I am very satisfied with the Pico Explorer and I am excited to see what I can do with it.

Simple way to get to know the features of the Pico W. Without worrying too much about wiring the circuit. Straight forward to add different devices enabling me to learn more about the software required to interface the different devices.

Nice bit of kit. Saves fiddling about with messy structures

Great starting point for many projects, I have used mine many times, though I tend to use a bigger breadboard with a power supply module fitted, liked it so much I brought another one for my son

Great platform to try and test the Pico microcontroller - well engineered and fun to use - does not include the buttons.
