One observation though: I need to find some washers because if I tighten the screws the button cover will always keep the button depressed leading to having the snowflakes start in bootloader mode. So for now I had to leave the screws a bit too loose...”

There is a minor problem with connecting the snowflakes together - the tiny, flat ribbons are fiddly to insert, and the sockets that they clamp into are tricky for people like me with pudgy fingers!
However, when connected up and powered, they look truly amazing. They are the best "animated" Christmas decorations I've ever seen. The range of patterns available is excellent.
Highly recommended (though they're a bit expensive!)”
