Fantastic - I would say essential - addition to a Pi4. Very easy to put together and install. My one concern before getting it was that it would be annoyingly noisy. However, in reality, even with two fan shims (on 2 PI4s) sitting under my monitor on my desk, they are effectively inadible. Even with my ear right next to them, the sound is almost inaudible - and what there is, importantly, is a rather pleasant low frequency, rather than an annoying high pitched whine that I had been expecting. An essential purchaser if you have a Pi4.

Shipped extremely quickly with effective, secure (and small!) packaging. The fan was easy to install after some very basic setup, and immediately brought the idle temperature of the Pi with the lid off down to ~41c, nearly a 20c reduction. As expected temperatures are higher with the lid on - idling around 50c - but still a notable reduction from the lid-on idling temperature of ~65c. The included python library is simple and easy to use, and the default settings of a 65c switch-on with 5c cooling target work well, the fan switching on roughly every 10-15 minutes for impressively short periods of time. Very impressed overall, quality service and item exactly as described. For intensive usage it may be worth also looking into a case that raises the Pi from the bottom of the case to aid in air flow, however I haven't investigated this yet.

The Fan Shim I received was doing an odd noise, and it was probably faulty. The support sent me quickly a new one that works perfectly. Product is good and it does its job. Nice bonus features.

Specifically bought to use with the PiBow Coupe Case for the Pi 4. I'm going to make a perforated aluminium stand off cover, to prevent my grandchildren poking their finger in the fan. I've told them not to do it, but it will happen.
