“It does what it's supposed to at an unbelievable price. My only gripe would be that it doesn't have a riser. It would make it perfect if you could raise it a tad in order to clear a heatsink.”
Ahoy Rushabh! You could use a booster header ( https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/booster-header ) to raise the Fan Shim up a bit, though we've found the Fan Shim actually cools more effectively on its own: https://blog.pimoroni.com/raspberry-pi-4-thermals-and-fan-shim/
“The fan does a very good job of keeping my Rasberry Pi 4 cool. The only issue I had was the first fan I had died prematurely. They sent me a new one at no cost and it works great.”
“First I'd like to compliment the service that they offer. My first package wasn't received. After a mail I got a new package send over.
As for the hardware:
Good quality fan and pcb. Easy to mount and with their GitHub repo easy to install. With some python knowledge the possibility to create your own scripts. The button works like it should. The same goes for the LED lights.
Downside, bit of a hassle to make it work on images like openelec.”
“Powerful fan that comes dissasembled. No clear instructions in the pack, so a little guess work is needed, but works overall. Cools the board like crazy and not TOO loud. Only issue is the fact you'll need a GPIO riser if you want to put on a HAT, but a small price to pay. Very satisfied!”
Ahoy! Sounds like you're sorted, but we've got a tutorial for assembling the Fan Shim here: https://learn.pimoroni.com/tutorial/sandyj/getting-started-with-fan-shim
“Great little fan, quiet, compact and easy to assemble and fit. Even the guides to install the python script were easy to follow. Would be better if it came with a little heatsink to sit between the fan and CPU, but otherwise an essential purchase for the Raspberry Pi 4!”
