“This screen works great and is very easy to install. I was able to update from an old CRT monitor on a bus to this LCD screen with great picture quality.”
“The LCD itself is really good. A nice bright and sharp display with good contrast and viewing angle.
However, the kit does not come with any mounting pillars for the LCD controller. I have the older Picade (hence using this upgrade kit as recommended) and the controller board mounting holes are different, so it does not fit the existing pillars. The PCB holes are 2mm, so getting suitable pillars has been a challenge. Similarly, the LCD control button PCB holes are different as well, so don't fit the attachment holes of the older Picade.
It would have been nice if the kit was supplied with suitable self adhesive 2mm pillars.
The LCD panel itself is slimmer than the original, so the original screen mounting method doesn't work. The panel is not held tightly enough. I ended up using Gorilla tape to fix it to the modified bezel card. No ideal, but works. The ribbon cable is very fiddly to fit and the socket is fragile, so you need to be careful.
In summary, great screen and a good upgrade, but the kit should have come with a suitable mounting kit. You need to be a bit creative to work out how to mount it all yourself.”
