This screen is far higher resolution than almost all the other “sits on top” screens (like four times the pixel count). This means the display is incredibly sharp and clear. It also updates far faster meaning video is possible too. It's bright too! The only possible downside is that it really is 3.5" so with the high resolution things can appear quite small (but still very sharp). I need my reading glasses on to use it fully but that's my eyes and not the fault of the display. So, for a really clear, bright and detailed display on top of your Pi this one beats the rest hands down.

Thought this would be another gimmicky screen add on for the pi and was pleasantly surprised that I could read the text clearly on the screen and was not blurry like some other screens I have in my collection. Just need a nice acrylic perspective case now with a way to hold a battery and this will then become my portable computer of choice.

As an RPi display novice, I wasn't looking forward to some of the rather “involved” solutions I'd seen during my Googling. This screen made things trivially easy for me: I plugged it in to my Pi, ran the one-line install script mentioned in the Github readme, rebooted and presto: a working touchscreen. The display itself is clear and bright, and using a Python driver I found through the (excellent) Pimoroni forums I was able to quickly knock up a demo app and test the touch features, which all seem to work perfectly and are very responsive. If you need a touch display for your IoT project, I can't recommend this enough!

Great little screen that is bright, responsive, works perfectly out of the box. Case options would be good...

Need a consolidated case for HyperPixel when attached to supported versions of RPi included the two Zeros. An integrated switch to execute "sudo shutdown" and boot when appropriate should give all the point and shoot cameras a run for their money. How about integrating a GPS modularly? Too much to ask? Thanks for a product that works right out of the box without the need for a custom image. I was using a Schenzen manufactured display with a custom image but alas the display became obsolete with Jessie and the support website dissolved.

I got the HyperPixel display as soon as Pimoroni flagged it on Twitter but had trouble at first with my Pi. I used a fresh install of the latest NOOBS 2.4.0 plus a update first and on running the one-line install (on GitHub) my Pi engaged the display at every next boot but crashed. Using the Excellent Pimoroni forum, Gadgetoid put me wise to a problem with the NOOBS version and suggested using Jessie with Pixel instead. Used Etcher to make the micro-SD, updated with APT-GET then ran the one-line GitHub install and ... Bob's your proverbial uncle ... worked a treat. The screen is bright very colourful, sharp and quite readable. A valuable addition to the Pi HAT family. 10/10 (and 10/10 for the forum too)
