“The worst thing about the microbit is its 5 x 5 display, which I think seriously limits the usefulness of the device. Enter the scroll:bit, which adds a 17 x 7 display that can be used either from makecode or from micro-python. In either case, the library provides a minimal set of functions that allows you to display scrolling text, icons or address individual pixels. It's a nice device and quite easy to program. Perhaps the only drawback is that it's a little bit pricey; it always bothers me when a peripheral costs as much as the microbit itself.”
