“I have used the jig twice now - first time was ok but then the second led to an imperfectly seated header. So it works, but i think could be improved relatively easily...
On both occasions i had the minor issue of knocking the screws a few times which made it harder to get the nuts on/off, needed to use some pliers to get the necessary force. This of course is likely down to my own lack of skill...but shorter screws might help (or bigger acrylic bar).
Otherwise regarding the imperfect header issue I was thinking of a way to solve it and had an idea - maybe a bigger triangular bit of acrylic to go over the header pins instead of the current bar shape - with a flat peak to hit with the hammer, might distribute the force better? Would also give you a more sizable bit to hold, to stabilise when hammering...i found it hard to hold on to the bar properly and avoid smashing my fingers. Could also have a thin piece of acrylic that would sit between the lines of header pins, to transmit the force the header base instead?
