“I'm VERY delighted :-) Really LOW cost, easy to install, WORKS PERFECTLY out of the box (I'm using Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+, Raspbian version 2018-11-13-raspbian-stretch-full). I've always been wanted something like this :-)”
“I fitted this to a Pi 3B+ running Octopi Octoprint and it works exactly as the advert. Perfect. My only gripe is that the on board button is impossible to get to when its in a case so I fitted a remote momentary switch.”
“This is a great bit of kit, essential if you are running a standalone Pi and cant access the network to remote power down. I made a shim to fit under this so that it can fit even lower on the board and make more room for the HATS to fit. A scalpel cleans up any wicked solder, be careful to remove all the slivers, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3193286 if you want to print the part.”
“I wanted a solution to safely turn on/off my Picade without having to cycle mains switch to turn on or navigate menu to turn off.
Soldered on the supplied header, wired up a momentary push button, fitted In the picade and installed the script from link in the product description - simple!”
“I have had two of these using one as a SHIM and soldering the other to the 2x6 header.
This has to be the best addon for running a headless Pi if you are using Cron* or SSH/VNC.
On and off at the press (and press and hold) of a button.
Although I have given this 5 stars I need to knock 1/2 a star off.
This is because soldering it onto a header (i.e. using it as Shove Hardware in the Middle) is a bit tricky. If you use too much solder you might find it impossible to put a hat/phat on the header (I had to use a file to make things fit). Maybe the brains at Pimoroni need to redesign it using what ever magic they used on the LED Shim! HINT HINT!!
(I do wish that they would bring back the original Black Hat Hacker The mini is too small for a full sized hat and the stack is a bit OTT. Come on lets have the original back ... even if its just PCB only .... PLEASE)
