“I needed some sound output for my Pi and touch screen combination (which I use as an IOT controller). The idea was to sound chimes etc. as alerts. At only ВЈ12, I thought I would give the Speaker pHAT a go and was pleasantly surprised to find how easy it was to get it going and how good the quality of the sound was. Once the software has been installed, a few lines of code using Pygame, for example, gets audio files playing straight away. (The VU meter also automatically, works but, in my application, it faces to the rear and so is not seen). Overall, a very good product!”
“The Speaker pHAT was easy to assemble and get working ,quality of the speaker is 100%,
I couldn't expect anything more giving the low, low price ,Thank You for a great product ,,like everything else I have bought from Pimoroni so far, first rate ;)”
“This instructable would benefit from having a few photos of the Speaker pHAT being/actually installed on the Pi. The overall size, orientation would then become clear and could be evaluated.
Also, is the mono produced by summing two stereo channels or is it simply one or the other of the two? Is the possible summing done actively, by an IC, or passively, simply by wiring the two channels together at output?
Are there plans to produce a stereo Speaker pHAT, one with two pairs of output solder pads?”
