“See my review of the Adafruit Perma Proto Bonnet Mini Kit. I used this to
separate a prototype weather sensor from the heat of the CPU works a treat
I have purchased a number of these boards from Pimoroni, they are excellent
quality, and will order again when needed”
“I have purchased a few of these with unpopulated GPIO. They are great for adding various hardware especially ones that would otherwise block the GPIO. Helps keep a nice flat form. I recommend with the Pi Zero for builds that will use a GPIO tft/lcd like the Iuniker 2.8.”
“Like Mr. Waterfield (read below), i too got the idea that putting a female header underneath would make the whole setup more compact. That is why i bought my second one - just remember to put some sort of insulator underneath any shim if you try to add one to that setup. it might touch the pin ends of the female header in the wrong way.
It is absolutely brilliant when you only have two devices to drive, but like to show what is going on by way of i.e. a LED shim. And, of course, keeping your project cable free.”
“I've used quit a few of these. Great for mounting multiple pHats to a Pi Zero. I put a female header on my Pi so I can plug it in like its a pHat, no ribbon cable needed. Use a 90 male for that first header and you can plug a Pi Zero in, and still attach two pHats.”
