“The Micro:bit is a very interesting board for young makers. This one comes in plastic bag with no box FYI. No problem for me. Don't forget to consider adding the the battery case holder /usb cable (sold separately)”
“Good intro to electronics/coding for children. Cheap and simple.
I'd recommend buying one of the Kiktronik kits - Discovery or Inventor kit and the Pimoroni accessories kit (battery cage and cable) along with this.”
“I'm a big fan of Raspberry Pi, but the COVID-19 social distancing gave me a need for a new tinkering project. Micro-bit is AWESOME! For such a low-cost product, it is a lot of fun straight out-of-the-box. There are several options for coding - I really like the scratch-like 'make-code' web interface - but you've got microPython too. And there are tons of add-ons and accessories. Such a versatile board, with sensors, buttons and other options. A must-have in my book! I'm sure I haven't even scratched the surface yet!”
“Very versatile. Ideal for small intelligent wireless nodes. Support from Mbed is very poor. None of my compass based projects work on latest build. Really just too confusing to develop with. Python is not a language I like but it worked out of the box. I prefer to be closer to the metal. PS not everyone is on Instagram, even genuine microbit users”
