“Nice little kit to simply introduce electronics and microbits to children (and their ludite parent).
The workbook is exactly what we need; with experiments taking baby steps at increasing complexity, all the while explaining what is happening and why.”
“We are new to Pimoroni and the Microbit. I've had my eye on both for a while but was waiting for my daughter to grow old enough! She turned seven recently, so we took the plunge and started with this kit. She loves it - she's so interested in all the different things you can do with it and wants to get it out for her "special time" each night. I like that she's learning to write software with actual hardware and visible components. I would recommend this route over e.g. Lego to learn to code as it's much cheaper, more flexible and more "realistic" if that makes sense.. Kids will love it. Also, the microbit seems pretty robust... it's had a bit of abuse at the hands of the 7 year old.”
“The micro bit starter kit has already gripped my 12 year old and a morning spent programming has made a dice, a yes-no game and finished with a light detector unit.
The kit arrived very promptly in the week running up to Christmas, so well done on that aspect. The kit itself, is nicely packaged and looks good. The series of inventions look like they will introduce us to simple electrical curcuits as well as using input and output coding.
Well done.”
“Have only just started using a bbc microbit, so far so good.
The kit seems to be straight forward and therefore a good way of starting to learn programming”
