“This is a nice starter kit for the microbit, but the experiments themselves could be a little more detailed. It's a reasonable set of starting points for experimenting and getting a bit of inspiration, but there's not a lot of background or explanations in the booklet past the basics. Still a nice place to start at a reasonable price, but doesn't compare to something like the Arduino starter kit for example.”
“Its a well put together starter kit with simple instructions for anyone wanting to learn the basics of programming etc, my 11 year old niece loves it! So five stars for that.
But 0 stars for forcing you to login to the BBC website to use it.
It's not for them to watch over me everytime I, or someone else want to play with this kit.”
“I bought this for my Grand Daughter who is 11yrs. When the box arrived printed on the side was a warning that it was for use with a Micro-bit which was not included. I did not open the box as it was to be a present, so I ordered a separate Micro-bit to complete the setup. When I gave Her the kit She found the Micro-bit was included. So I have now got a spare. The kit itself is excellent and brilliant for Her age.”
“This is an excellent way of getting into using the micro:bit. There are all the components necessary to complete the projects in the clear, comprehensive handbook. I bought one of these for myself to see what the micro:bit does and how. As a result of that I have been confident to buy one for my grandsons. They will enjoy being able to control real world events through coding and hopefully taking a deeper interest in IT.”

“Great kit, takes kids from basic code through to Java with the addition of building circuits on breadboard using resistors, LEDs, jumpers and all the rest, no cutting or soldering needed, everything is very safe at 3volts DC, and kids suprise you at just how well they can do it.
When first shipped I didn't get the full kit, but pimoroni customer service were great, I sent a couple of photos of what I got and
they shipped the rest straight away, fast and efficient and I will buy from them again.”
