As a retiree I am probably about 40 years older than the typical demographic. However the kit is well prepared, great book and guide and perfect for an absolute beginner like myself.
do make sure you read through each chapter first - as their are often tips and guides at the end that will make things easier of you do.

“The starter kit is solid for both beginners and people with basic electronic experience explaining things clearly and concisely. The components can be re-used for projects outside of the ones covered in the book. You might want some wire and wire strippers for your own projects as the precut wires can look messy at times.”

May be problematic for vision-impared: contrast in book printing could be stronger and I found picking out the correct value resistor by colour code to be a pain with my OK eyesight (although I guess this is component manufacturer's fault).
