“Fantastic machine that worked right out of the box! I needed this for putting text into an already-bound book, when no other method could, and it worked brilliantly alongside Inkscape. The pen-holder head is small, so has minimal restrictions on what areas of the page I couldn’t write on. The adjustability of the pen up-down positions and the fact the pen is lowered only to the point it contacts the page meant I could quickly set it up to accommodate the unevenness of the page surface. The controls within Inkscape were clear and easy to get used to, with good presets to start me off quickly.”
“Fantastic plotter as you would expect from EvilMadScientist. I did look at buying direct from the US and shipping it to UK. My conclusion was it was far simpler to buy direct from Pimoroni and not much more expensive. As usual Pimoroni delivered a great service!
Axidraw vs. other plotters? You get what you pay for - this is high quality and is unbreakable (so far ...). There is also great support for getting started and developing ideas.”
“AxiDraw V3 is great. Easy to use and the learning curve is certainly manageable.
The [recommended) software (i.e. Inkscape) is however not without glitches. Compatibility with Apple Arm64 seems much better than Intel. Inscape can also feel clunky and a little cumbersome.”
