“An essential piece of kit for heavy cpu load processes eg gaming, video editing etc. Fitted this easily to pi 4b with 8gb ram. Temperatures now range in mid to top 40C whereas without the heat sink they were pushing 70C+, although is still within spec for the pi. Was able to fit an audio dac on the gp10 pins using an extender header. All good. See photo of kit. I used some modified plastic tube from cotton buds as spacers for the audio dac board which sits above the heatsink case to make it more stable - perfect fit !”
“Need to use the provided thermal pads to make contact with the heatsink, dissipates some heat but system does still heat up a lot. If you intend to use a reasonably heavy load you will require a fan.”
“Great thermal performance. Side by side with another identical but case-less raspi running the same program at 28C ambient temperature, the raspi in the heatsink case was 15C cooler at the CPU.
The green colour looks great, and complements the green PCB nicely. Its more of a deep mint green than a forest green. This particular model comes with heat tape and thermal cutouts to accommodate the main chip, ram, and USB chip. Similar versions of this case don't always have the cutout for the USB chip so this is very nice to see.”
“Excellent case. Very well built. Does not feel cheap. Great to use on your pi for passive cooling. You will need GPIO stacking header/extender for hats”
“Needed a case with very good cooling capacity so I can run ESXi without having to worry about thermal issues. This case doesn’t disappoint. I have PiHole and UniFi Controller running on one OS, whilst simulataneously on another OS, I needed to compile VMware tools (CPU intensive) and I had no issues with heat at all. The case was in no way hot at all. I reckon even if I did really push it, I could add a small fan and it would never get beyond a bit warm.
Very good build quality and easy to put together too. Still leaves access to all the important bits like camera and display connections as well as GPIO.”
