These little aluminium heatsink cases are the business if you want to work a Raspberry Pi 4 hard with passive cooling - no noisy fans :) They're available in a range of snazzy shades which makes it easy to visually identify them if you have a few of them.

Seems to do a good job of keeping the Pi cool without the need for a fan.

These are the best-looking and most functional cases I could find, but there are a couple of things that could be improved: 1. There is no good way of mounting the case to a base plate or larger enclosure: I had to epoxy aluminium mounting ears onto the aluminium base. Heatsink also works better if stood off the surface a little. 2. There is no effective path for heat to the cooling fins on the base. A land for a heat pad pressing on the rear of the Pi PCB behind the main chip would improve this. 3. The Allen key provided was a sloppy fit requiring to be pushed to one side to bite.

I have tried various cases for my RPi 4s and this type is by far my favourite. My 1st RPi 4 was the original model which used to run hot. This type cured it and is compact and rugged. The only drawback is using HATs which can't (easily) be mounted; however, highly recommended.

Blimey, like a slab of solid aluminum, very impressed, passive cooling seems to make so much more sense to me! If you are not using the GPIO pins you'd be wise to run a bit of insulation tape over them or use a dedicated cover.
