“Our Postie used to leave elastic bands on the drive when delivering fan mail, but due to cutbacks and being more environmentally aware they have stopped doing that recently.
When I ran out of elastic bands I bought these silicone ones, and they are just as good for bundling wires and temporarily mounting sensors. Our cats haven’t tried chewing them yet but they do seem to be a bit more robust than original postal service ones!”
“Arrived quickly, well packed and everything as expected. They are marketed as cable ties, but I am using them on a printer. There is a rubber tyre on the paper pickup roller which has worn thin through long use. This small part seems impossible to find on its own, only as part of a larger component costing £200+. Spreading a few of these silicone bands evenly over the tyre increases thickness and gives correct friction for good pickup, no more paper jams, a small cost and easy repair. Sideways thinking doesn't always work but it did this time. Thank you Pimoroni.”
