“The camera is straightforward to use - we've attached it to a Raspberry Pi model 3 running MotionEyeOS and it works well.
As this is the Night Vision camera, outside photographs in the daytime do have a colour cast, but they are very clear.
The adjustable focus works well, but it is sometimes hard for us to know what setting to use when we're using the camera to take photographs of wildlife that might approach.
The screws/nuts that secure the IR lamps to the camera body are quite small - I think they might be M2 or even smaller. The screws and nuts included in the kit are just fine, but we wanted some longer ones so that we could mount the camera to a plasticard board. Luckily I had some in a "box of bits".
All in all, we're very pleased with the camera. Thank you.
Is there any way to ensure that the IR lamps turn off when the raspberry Pi powers down?”
“Great camera, easy to connect to pi or pi zero.
Clarity and resolution are incredible.
Infra red LEDs have some visible glow if looking directly at them.
LEDs not suitable if you want to illuminate a large area or long distance, but
Perfect for baby monitor, door bell, bird box or other similar projects.
Have used it with a popular motion OS to capture animals at night, baby monitor and watching clouds and storms as timelapse.”
“First camera sent only x1 of the infrared lamps was working (but still got some images!) but quickly replaced by Pimoroni - all working fine and lots of fun ! The colour of daylight images could be better but have a day camera also so swop over as required.”
