“Theres nothing wrong with the product, i just think its a bit misleading to promote it as if it's designed for the pi camera. It's a generic lens kit made for smartphones, not in any way designed for Pi. I thought they would have some sort of adapter to attach to the pi camera lens barrel. That was a stupid assumption on my part. The lenses are HUGE, the clip is enormous. I wanted to modify the cameras on my compact lightweight stereo gimbal sensor head I built. Fat chance, this kit would double the weight and the width.”

This is a phone lens kit that happens to be a great fit for taking interesting images with the various Raspberry Pi camera options. We think they're fun but they might be outside of your space/weight budget!

The clip forks best if the RPI is in a case, otherwise it's hard to center it.”

However I would not say it is a "perfect accessory" for RPI camera (here V2 NoIR) - the clip does not fit on the camera itself - the hole is bigger than camera lens and it cannot be fixed in the correct position. Any piece of plastic which fits both camera and lens mount would do the job much better! For me wide lenses also does not work with factory camera focus - and even tuning it gives good results only in the center image while borders are still blurred - maybe that is why all example images are only macro and not wide.”
“Having bought the lenses, family members immeadiaely took them for fun on their mobile phones, etc. I bought a cheaper replacement on ebay, and was left disappointed. Compared to the ones sold here, they were not up to scratch, terrible packaging, slightly damaged, poor clip that touches the lenses glass, etc.
My advice, is keep with the set you can buy here - i was much happier with these.”
“I bough these lenses to use with my Raspberry Pi camera - particularly the wide-angle lense for use with my CCTV setup.
The quality of these lenses is excellent and attaching them is very simple - done using a simple clip-on mechanism. The macro lense is particularly impressive and gives some really detailed close up shots too.
My only criticism is that these are more suited to a mobile phone than a Raspberry Pi. Whilst they do work across both, if you use any additional addon boards for the Raspberry Pi camera (such as a custom PCB that I bought for IR LED lighting), then you cannot effectively attach the lense due to the clip-on mechanism resting on delicate circuitry on the back. Not a major issue as in a final build of a CCTV system, I could attach the lens to a custom mount if needed.
However if you are simply using the RPi Camera then this will work flawlessly!”
