“Given the entire purpose of this cable is to tidy the wiring up, it is rather a disappointment. The ends which plug into the RiPI+Video boards are so big and clunky they really get in the way and are visible sticking out the top(or bottom) of the PI. They interfere with the units ability to sit flat when orientated one way around.”
“I agree with the other reviewers, you kind of expect better from Pimoroni...
The cable does protrude from the top of the screen (can be mostly adjusted for but there is still a small annoying bit at the top).
My other bug bear is that when a standard micro USB cable is plugged into the single end of the cable there is a gap between the two ends of each cable.”
“This Y cable works perfectly. Add to it a 2.5A supply and it will comfortably run a Pi 3 and a 7” touch screen. It’s relatively cheap but well made. I gave this four stars as I have one criticism. The plugs are obviously straight , not angled but are quite long and protrude above the screen so if you want to build the screen into a case with just one power input (as I intended), the case would have to be bigger than the screen. I will end up cutting off the plugs and soldering the wires.”
“Hi.
Ive just received the LCD Frame pictured above, and i think its great.
I appreciate that the Dual microB USB Power Cable comes along with the LCD frame, but i think its a shame the shape makes for the cables to stick above the frame and become visible.”
