“The M5 Atoms I bought on Pimoroni turned out to be an excellent buy. They're a lot like having an M5StickC but without the display or battery, so ideal for smaller low power projects. And the size and plastic case make them ideal for swapping between projects: you just need some stripboard and header pins to make a little docking station and solder your circuit around it. So if you want to do a WiFi or Bluetooth project quickly and cheaply, that doeen't need many gpio pins, I'd definitely recommend trying one out.”
“This thing is an *amazing* piece of kit. The learning curve is as steep as you want to make it, and it is seriously backed-up by Espressif, M5 and a huge and remarkably helpful developer community. I absolutely love this thing, to the extent that I'm thinking of switching careers to embedded development. *That* good.
Considering the price, it's worth buying three or four and seeing what you can get up to. I'm going to take a look at the interfacing options and practices, and then seeing what I can get done.
Delivery was quick and reliable as ever from Pimoroni. I love these guys.
In general - what's not to love?”
“Such a good little kit! Lots of docs online to help get started with the ESP32. Have one of these hooked up to 3 temperature sensors monitoring the hot water tank and transmitting data over wifi so I know when I have enough hot water to shower! Pretty reliable.”
