“I'd been looking at this one for some time and purchased it at the same time as my 2GB Pi 4. A lot has been said about the Argon ONE case and it definitely does not disappoint.
It takes only a few minutes to assemble and to install the fan and power control software.
DON'T FORGET to purchase the HDMI adapters so you can connect to your monitor(s) or TV. I am knee deep in adapters for the PI Zero but they don't fit the Pi 4. The website should have a reminder entry to suggest purchasing them or better still, include a pair with the Argon ONE case.
On the upside, the case looks great, the cooling is excellent - I've only had the fan come on once or twice when running Z80-mon to test Z80 machine code. Access to the GPIO pins is also well thought out.”
“It seems like a brilliantly designed case, but it has one major flaw, which, if you look at the Amazon reviews, you will see that many, many people beside me have encountered. There is a small PCB that connects to the audio and hdmi outputs on the Pi and turns them around the corner to so that all outputs are on the same side, where the USB ports are. Unfortunately, this connection is very fiddly. At first I could not get any HDMI output at all, but after much playing around I got one of them to work and it seems to be stable.
I only need one video output, so that's OK for me and I'm not returning it. But I would not buy another, as many people have not been able to get any HDMI output at all. It's a shame, because otherwise it's brilliant. Passive cooling is very good and I have not had the fan turn on yet.”
“Solid substancial case for Raspberry Pi 4. It allows all the cables to be neatly routed from the back, and the GPIO pins hidden neatly under magnetic hatch gives a very tidy and classy feel.”
“The Argon ONE is a great case for little money. If you plan on running some more resource-intensive things on your Pi 4, then this is certainly a case that can handle a little heat.
Passive and active cooling are very efficient, with the only downside I would've liked to know beforehand: The fan is a little on the loud side of things. If you know the Pimoroni Fan-Shim, then this fan will not be to your liking, as it can be quite annoying.
The case itself is well made, sturdy and has a nice weight to it. Assembly is easy and fast. Access to the GPIO is handled pretty nice, though I suspect some HATs might touch the metal of the case, depending on where the HAT has it's parts and what those parts are, so keep that in mind.
Access to ports is also routet to one side so all of the Pi 4 connectors are on the back of the case. Nice and tidy.
If you can, consider the Argon ONE Mk.2 or whatever that's called, as that would safe you the hassle with micro-HDMI cables and has space for an M.2 SSD as well.”
