This goes a long way to making the pi4 like a "proper" computer - vaguely reminiscent of an early noughties hot hatch bonnet, with neater cabling, full size hdmi, good thermals and the tidiest way of hooking up fast storage. It's also impressively heavy. I haven't been able to use the power button due to software of my particular use case and it's a real shame the microsd socket isn't exposed - unscrewing the case to do card-based firmware recovery is a pain. I hoped to use an extender cable and mod the case but the one pimoroni sell is too bulky to fit. Once an M2 card has been inserted the base part can be attached to a normal computer via a type a to type a cable - that's a bit weird - and used as a hard drive. The pi imager utility happily wrote an OS image to it. Aside from those niggles - let's call them opportunities for improvement - this is a very nice case.

Excellent case for most projects. If you are going to be doing some heavy work on the Pi you might be better with some active cooling, but this case does an excellent job for almost all uses.

Set up is pretty straight forward. Remember it does not come with a SATA card but one can be purchased pretty easily. It looks sleek and high quality. The fan/heatsinks/design of the case keeps the pi decently cool too.

Great cooling and allows SSD boot from the internal M2 slot. The USB connector can be removed to boot from a different USB drive. Only downside is lack of access to the micro sd, not a problem for me as you can boot from faster USB 3 drives.
