“The case a good solid build, the top being cast alloy that act as a heatsink the bottom being plastic which houses the m2 ssd. Instructions are very good on how to assemble the parts. The magnetic cover gives easy access to the io pins. I'm currently using mine for Home Assistant running on an ssd.”
“After a long search, I eventually settled on this case; the reviews were always favourable.
My specific requirement, apart from the M.2 capability, was it kept the Pi cool. I run two of these units now (Home Assistant, and OMV) and both manage, through careful thermal management and fan control, to keep the Pi below 40 degrees C. OMV actually averages 34C! Superb case.”
“This is the second ARGON ONE M.2 case I have bought. They are very good, very simple to construct and very quiet in operation. They aren't the cheapest out there but I run the two RPi4s 24/7 and haven't had any issues yet.
I use the Kingston A400 M.2 SATA drive (240Gb) in these cases and boot RPi Debian Bullseye from them without any issues.
I would highly recommend these cases for RPi 4 systems”
“A really fantastic case for running your Pi4b with an M.2 ssd. It transforms the pi into a really usable machine despite which OS you run.
Highly recommended.”
“This is now my go-to case for my Raspberry Pi whenever I want to use it in a visible location. Not only is the Argon ONE M.2 case well-built, it adds some amazing functionality such as the active cooling, organised inputs / outputs (i.e. HDMI, power, USB and the GPIO) as well as enhancing the performance of my Raspberry Pi when using the M.2 SSD base. Both my Raspberry Pi 4's are housed in the Argone ONE M.2 case now and they are great.”
“Only minor issues spoil this from being perfect - the adapter board is very tight to fit to the Pi and the thermal pads are a bit thin but the case (and optional software) work well.
The fan is very very quiet but get used to the case being warm to the touch as it's the main heat sink even with the fine running.
WiFi / Bluetooth is impacted hard by the metal - not totally gone but not as good as a bare Pi board or normal plastic case.
100% would buy this again.”
