“Good product only if you plan to talk right into your Rpi. As an ambient microphone, this will not work. From a distance of 1m, the microphone is barely capturing any sound. Sadly i have found out the hard way, but considering the price it is not a big loss. Other than that, it is plug and play, nothing to worry about. None of this is Pimoroni's fault, but this is an honest product review.”
“I'm using this to record audio using a script with motion Eye and so far I haven't had luck getting it working for that purpose but a quick test using alsa shows the mic is working and the quality is pretty good. I'm considering repurposing it for a home made google assistant or alexa bot.”
“This mic is going to be my audio recording mic from the new raspberrypi 4 8GB module. Since pi board has a camera port but no onboard microphone, this is a nice solution.”
