“The board worked as expected and the Adafruit guides and reference material are fine - although I seem to recall a little stale. We also used the cheaper NFC board from the pirates (WPI405) and that also worked fine with the tags provided, so the extra cost was (in our case) not worth it. Neither would read some tags that can be read by a phone. We suspect this is because the problematic tags are very small and this is a miss-match with the antenna on both cards. We need to be able to read these tags (!) and so are moving to a commercial usb connected tag reader.”
