I bought the 12 pixel ring last year and recently got a 'Go Pro Hero 4 Black' camera I found the the 12 Pixel Ring Is a prefect fit around the lens, very small gap (it will fall off if tilled forward) I intend to make a new case for the 'Go Pro' I also just got the 16 & 24 Pixel Rings (4th Jan 2016) the 16 Pixel is too small to fit around the 12 Pixel, but the 24 Pixel is large enough to fit around the 12 or 16. the 24 Pixel fit slighty over the edge of the 'Go Pro' On button but you can still press the button. As I have other plans for the 24 Pixel ring I will be ordering another soon the 'adafruit neopixel jewel 7x ws2812' will also fit inside the 12 Pixel Ring The NeoPixels are very bright and I found it easy to write the code to test the 16 million colours -------------------------------- Maybe this could be used for Chroma Key with something like Chromatte:tm: for key without shadows set the Leds to Green or blue Whatever your use these Pixel Rings are great products

I have definitely stared at this for hours. And a note, whilst on the Adafruit page it says that it is incompatible with Linux based boards, it WILL work on a Pi with a bit of hacking and if you don't need your Analogue sound output. Similarly to the Unicorn HAT actually since they both use the same protocol. I will also add two warnings, Adafruit advise you to have a 1000ВµF 6.3V Capacitor across GND and PWR, along with a resistor on the data line to protect the Neopixels. If you are using an Arduino Due or Pi you should be fine without the resistor but adding the capacitor is a good idea. Now onto the review; they, like the Unicorn HAT, are BLINDINGLY BRIGHT! The Arduino Examples all default to full brightness too so be careful and maybe put it behind a piece of paper as it will hurt your eyes, seriously. With some quick code it can make such cool patterns and the official library for Arduino is so straight forward and easy to use. Definitely recommend as something to play around with, make sure to remember that this is just for the ring with no wires attached, you'll need to solder some yourself.
