“After seeing the product video I thought it would be good for my lunch on the go but I'm disappointed. I heat the food flask with boiling water and fill with very hot food but when ready to eat 5 hours later the food is warm. I certainly don't have steam coming off it. I'm either doing something wrong or just doesn't work for me.”

I'm really sorry to hear this.
As long as the Food Flask is being preheated, completely filled to the top and the food is put in as hot as possible, it should be keeping your food hot for up to 10 hours.
