“I recently bought Kia Sorento all weather floor mats and a trunk liner. I inquired after a couple of days per email on delivery times ... no answer. I send them a couple of follow up emails,... no reply. Why offering a support email service when not responsive to emails ? One wonders...
Then I called and they found my two orders for which one order (the boot liner) could not be found in the system although I could order it from their website and they advised me to buy it elsewhere. Positive fact was that the all weather floor mats were available and they said they would return the money for the trunk liner.
In all honesty, The order admin staff was friendly and helpful. The reason given for the confusion about what is available vs. what can be ordered vs. when can be delivered was a new ERP system implementation. I have done some ERP implementations myself and can accept the reason as a credible excuse. Then , to my great surprise, the two orders were delivered 3 or 4 days later. That was good. The bad was that I ordered the trunk liner from another company and had to return it on my expense (£15 - Hermes courier).
The other bad - really bad - was that the all weather floor mats are so stinky (extremely strong rubber tire smell) that I decided to let them soak twice for 48 hours in the bath with a soap and let them air for TWO weeks outside. I even had to take them of my balcony because the rubber smell would extend from outside into our apartment when we had the balcony door open. The mats are a bit less smelly today but still totally unusable in the car which is a closed confined space.
I plan in contacting SG Petch early next week by phone (as they do not respond to emails) to see what they have to say or can advise to get rid of the intrusive smell so I can use them in the car.”
