“Unfortunately we won’t be buying the pate tins again as they do not seem as good quality as the previous pate pots sold by Scrumbles before they were discontinued. Most have a very mushy texture which is more like a mousse than a pate and the colour is very different and there is no jelly unlike with the old pate.
We have found that Natures Menu do a selection box of pate tins which is almost identical to the old version of the Scrumbles pate and these are 85g tins. It works out slightly cheaper too without having to buy such huge quantities in one go like we have to with the Scrumbles tins to save a little money.
The Natures Menu tins are also much better quality and far less messy as they leave hardly any food behind in the tins unlike these ones which are very messy and impossible to scrape clean.
Unfortunately the Scrumbles tins don’t seem to be of such good quality as we have had rust on a lot of them straight out of the box and the ring pulls have broken off before opening on some too.
We would have continued to buy Scrumbles had the pate recipe not changed and if the tins were better quality but unfortunately I don’t think we will be continuing to buy our wet food here.”
“I noticed my cat was throwing up after eating her food so I decided to switch to Scrumbles and couldn’t be happier! She no longer has an upset stomach, and has increasingly looked forward to having her meals. I’ve subscribed to make life easier as it arrives at my door instead of hauling it from the shops. “Food itself seems good but I find it frustrating that I now have to give my cat 3 tins each day, with the previous recipe I only needed 2! This makes it quite expensive and packaging heavy. I also find the ring pulls on the tins are poor quality and always snap off before I can get the tin open.”
“Again well enjoyed by my cats, but the older packaging was a lot easier to get the pate out of cleanly. The tins are tricky to fully scrape out, and I've now had 3 "exploding" tins where the contents inside have gone bad. Scrumbles did send me replacements however.”
