Well pleased with the blade. Used it quite a bit for ripping, cross cutting and half lap joint cutting. Gives a nice clean cut and fairly low noise. Might try the pro blade next.

I don't usually do reviews (this is the first time to be precise) but having been unhappy with my Evolution SMS255 for a while, or rather the blade that comes with it I decided to look for other options rather than a direct replacement from the original manufacturer. The original blade always felt a bit "whippy" from new, and felt like it was off balance, after a bit of research it appears it's a common theme, but the 25.4mm centre bore leaves you a bit limited for non OE replacements unless you want to run an adapter to reduce a 30mm bore, which I didn't particularly want to do, but over time the blades cutting performance got to a stage where it had to be changed. After a bit of a dig around I came across Saxton, and their blades, the blade I purchased was under £20 including delivery, half the price of an OE blade, and to be honest I wasn't expecting much, but the original was so bad I thought I'd take a punt, and if it wasn't any good I hadn't wasted much money, I ordered late on a Friday night, and it was delivered on the next Monday, so timely service, always a good start, it was put straight to work doing mitre cuts on 2" oak, Teak, and Holly, so not the easiest of tests, and the difference was enormous straight away, okay I slowed the cut slightly to allow for the blades 80 teeth, rather than the OE's 40, and the finish was flawless, zero tear out at the end of the cut, beautifully smooth grain throughout the cut, superb. As an added bonus (a major one for anyone with near neighbours) the noise level was considerably lower (yet to do a test with a decibel meter, but am planning on doing a comparrison against the OE blade), gone are the ringing sounds of the old blade as it tries to sort itself out after a cut, and there's no more backing off mid cut because the blade is cavitating, the only real noise is the saws motor, excellent. So, sorry for the long winded review, in short the blade has now done over 40 hours in mainly hard woods, is still performing as well as it did out of the box, and, in my opinion can't be faulted, I'll be back very soon to order a spare, and maybe try a 100 tooth blade as well, and I'll be treating my table saw to a new blade at the same time...

Absolutely razor sharp cut. No chipout at all on melamine faced mdf kitchen plinths. I did not even have to use the tape trick, scoring cut or a zero clearance plate in the sliding mitre saw.

Used to replace evolution blade because I wanted a smooth cut for woodworking. This blade is perfect and finished cut doesn't need sanding!
