Thanks very much for your review which we very much appreciate though of course it is not to our usual 5 stars. To allay your fears we spent much time testing and checking the different types of chain available. We deliberately designed the strap with a light weight metal chain (which is very hard to find) because if the chain is to heavy it would very much add to the weight, particularly when attached to a bag with contents. The weight of this chain will not make it any less durable, but as you say time will tell. I hope we can ask you to review again when you have had a chance to try it out. Best wishes Sarah x
