Great tool for managing my very large Ancestry tree, providing features not available in Ancestry

Very disappointed with latest version. Cannot see any benefits from obtaining this version. I like to use the family group chart for my records of my family tree. I do not like the horizontal grid lines that automatically appear. On an older version I was able to print the family group charts without these grid horizontal grid lines but this option seems to have vanished. I did query this and the automatic reply I got said I probably need to change to the latest version but this does not give any such option.

As a genealogy database it's good and the tools are useful, especially when identifying problems. Not so good for research, that’s best done in Ancestry or Family Search. The charts are OK, better than Ancestry's basic offerings. The link with Ancestry and Family Search is very good, especially as it downloads and links the media files, not simply a Gedcom interface. One big criticism, if you navigate away from Roots Magic after opening Roots Magic and then a subsequent additional Roots window, which is smaller than the main window, you can’t get back to the smaller window which is behind the first. You can’t move, resize or close the main window. Using Alt-Tab doesn’t help, it takes you to the main Roots window, which you can’t do anything with. The solution, remember to move all additional Roots windows away from the main one. Forget at your peril.

New version a little easier to use than version 9 in my opinion.

Was happy to upgrade although need to be careful about which RM9 file transferring but easy to use and has great features to help with family history.

Wasn’t going to upgrade as only a year since 10 and wasn’t sure there would be much benefit. Install very easy and tidied up and removed my old versions. The new feature to copy a fact to other people in your tree is a game changer, saves so much duplicate typing of adding census info. Fabulous change, was worth the upgrade just for that.
