“I have been using genealogy software for many years. I bought RM9 specifically to use with my quite large collection of family photos, which had remained largely unclassified. I realised that I was now the only living person who could identify many of the people in the photos and connect them with the places and activities seen in the photos. After attending a course at SoG on photogenealogy I started thinking about how to preserve these pictures and their significance. I was able to get so far with tags and Adobe Bridge, but I realised that I needed a media-friendly genealogy package. I think I have found this in RootsMagic 9. It allows me to connect pictures not only with family members but also with events, non-family associates and places. I look forward to further developments in RootsMagic to bring genealogy and media even closer to one another, and perhaps even to extend to (representations of) physical objects.”
