The Tamar Overhead is designed to be your steadfast companion during wet weather wandering. Embrace a slower pace of exploring while keeping your on-the-go essentials close to hand and visible through the viewing window. The green colour palette and low fabric noise allow you to seamlessly blend into the woodland or rural environment. Ideal for hobbies like bird watching or nature photography.
The waterproof detachable viewing pouch is perfect for storing your OS map, guidebook, note pad, and other essential belongings that you need to keep close to hand, but out of wet weather. Simply lift the viewing pouch up to allow you to view inside, ideal for checking directions while on the move. Underneath the pouch is a large drop pocket with a secure zip that the viewing pouch can be stored in when not in use. There is also another internal pocket inside the drop pocket.
Two large side zips that can open from the top and bottom offer effortless pullover wear, provide convenient venting options, and create easy accessibility even while wearing a rucksack with a front strap. The brushed tricot inside the front panel provides a comfortable resting place for your hands when the wind or rain picks up, and the rear vent provides extra airflow when you need it.
When your adventure ends, easily store and carry the pullover by converting it into a shoulder bag complete with a shoulder strap for effortless adaptability. The shoulder bag also features a zipped pocket with internal compartments.

Just like Carol B below, I dithered over this garment. It's long on my 5' 2" frame and I'm at an age where the map pocket will not be used much. But at last, I decided to keep it and I wore it on a particularly wet day in Scotland. What a fab bit of kit. Silky smooth material and so light. Completely waterproof. As a vet and farmer, I'm used to wearing a jacket and waterproof trousers combo - cos I hate the cold, wet knees syndrome. This negated that problem - I was wearing my wellies and although there was a gap between the two, the torrential rain seemed to be shed off. I spent the entire 2 hours exploring the many zips and access points. The hood suited me perfectly since I hate hats - it can be set like a cap sitting lightly on the head and kept me and my Bose over-ear headphones dry. Brilliant.

Dithered a lot about buying this. Feared it would be too much of a faff to get on and off, and too cumbersome. Eventually bought it in the sale, but didn’t wear it until today when a full day’s rain was forecast. It turned out to be surprisingly light and gave very good coverage, no rain dripping onto legs as from shorter anoraks. Found the hood mechanism a bit clunky as tightening it caused it to ride up the head. However, I was dry, didn’t feel over-enclosed, and the ventilation was very good. Will be wearing it much more!

I have been hoping for a long time that Rohan would produce a lightweight longer waterproof for the warmer months (the Kendal and before that the Hilltop jackets are great for the colder months). This is it. I walked for an hour in heavy rain, and it kept out the rain perfectly, while being very comfortable to wear. It has many unique design features. The detachable map case is one; another is the side zips, which make it easy to access pockets, and (as the sales assistant told me) to walk uphill; I also felt cooler when I opened them. This is a great and distinctive product, and I am looking forward to using it in future.

I wanted this as soon as I saw it. The pullover style and length appealed to me. I was a little puzzled by the advertised sizing but the telephone person said the larger size should fit an XXL man, and I bought it (with 15% discount for gift-your-gear). Only been in heavy rain once but I think it will do very well. I would have liked slightly longer sleeves. In the course of Peak District shopping I have kept the side panels half open, which give good access to pockets, but I zip these down if/when it rains . This could be iconic gear!

Excellent design. Tested in showers on a cold day, plenty of room to layer underneath. Loved the side zips, good for ease of movement for walking uphill & ventilation. highly recommend. I am a size 10-12 & ordered small/medium for perfect fit.
